Community Care Supervisor/Solicitor required by independent, not-for-profit, solicitor-led legal advice agency in Birmingham that supports people in financial need by providing;
Specialist advice in areas of social welfare law including debt, housing, welfare benefits, employment discrimination and community care.
Grants for individuals and families in need
The purpose of the post is primarily to act as the supervisor for the funded community care advice work carried out by the company. There will also be opportunities to be involved in the development and delivery of new projects as well as training and awareness raising.
The main Duties of the role are maintaining and managing an active community care caseload commensurate in volume and complexity with the responsibilities of a supervisor, preparation and delivery of internal and external training courses and maintaining an effective regime of supervision for community care casework staff, including direct supervision, and in particular to meet the companies standards in the specialist area of law.
Candidates will have supervisory experience in the community care area of social welfare law with an ability to demonstrate specialist knowledge in the community care area of social welfare law.
Knowledge of and experience with the use of IT in a day-to-day legal context, including use of email, the Internet, and word processing is also essential.
You will be educated to degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent level qualification
Performing all such functions as are required to maintain professional standing, in particular, ensuring compliance with the SRA Code of conduct 2007 as subsequently amended in 2009
