This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed, organized and talented Control Engineer to join our client based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will work from design layouts and system specifications to assist in the development of robust, cost effective control solutions.
Role: Control Engineer
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

As a Control Engineer you will interact with the Engineering team, Controls Project Manager, Procurement team and External suppliers to ensure the following is completed:
*Reviewing pre-sales concepts and overall system solutions and verify that solutions can be engineered to meet client requirements.
*Prepare or review the post sales 'functional design specification' so that all statutory and customer specific requirements are met.
*Prepare or review safety matrix charts to meet risk assessment, customer specification and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
*Design approval of Electrical drawings.
*Develop structured PLC Software
*Develop HMI/SCADA software
*Prepare test documentation to validate installation and system functionality.
*Bench test system software prior to site commissioning to validate software functionality.
*Testing and commissioning of control systems on site.
The ideal candidate will ideally be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an Electrical Engineering discipline and possess previous experience within either an Automotive or Material Handling business. You will also have experience in PLC Software Design and commissioning and experience of either Siemens S7 and/or Rockwell RSLogix. You will need to be able to read and understand both 2D & 3D technical drawings as well as electrical drawings. You will be a decisive individual with a natural ability to project manage and actively participate in regular team reviews and training opportunities.
Candidates will also need to be confident in Microsoft Office programs, AutoCAD and MS Project.
