Digital Print Technician

Our client, a vibrant West Midlands based multi-service marketing agency, is looking to recruit a proficient Digital Print Technician to join their team. The successful Digital Print Technician will be responsible for the efficient supervision and operation of the lasering and envelope overprinting areas.

Job Title: Digital Print Technician
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Salary: £16,000

Working as the Digital Print Technician you will be involved in the following;
*Laser - To merge data and print finished documents onto laser machines.
*Inkjet - To set up envelope layout from data and carry out full operation for addressing envelopes.
*Prepare data and layout documents for digital output as required.
*Ensure that all envelope and lasering samples are presented to the Client Account Manager and a proof is signed before printing commences.
*Use the Mailsort software for each postal operator to process and order address datasets and produce final bag labels and all documentation for both production and the client account managers
*To sign out, from stocks, paper and envelopes for individual projects as appropriate
*To ensure that the correct work is given to the inkjet operatives in line with the job sample making sure to liaise with the General Manager/Production Team Leader on this as necessary.
*To ensure that the laser and envelope production areas are kept in a tidy and ordered manner throughout each shift and that they are returned to an agreed state at the end of each shift.
*Keep the work folders neat, tidy and clear of unnecessary data on each computer under your control.
*To be responsible for archiving of files on the Inkjet/Laser and Mailsort computers on a daily and month end basis.
*Assist the General Manager with the daily operation of the production department.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and will have previous experience within a similar position. You will ideally have a full understanding of the dynamic mail merging software used and you will be fully proficient with IT packages.
