Electronics Design Engineer required by a automotive engineering company based in Coventry
The company is a is a dynamic engineering consultancy primarily focused on electric and hybrid vehicle engineering. They are currently designing and building electric sports car prototypes, a hybrid light commercial vehicle prototype, battery and electronic control systems.
The purpose of the role is the design of vehicle electronic control modules, software and electro-mechanical engineering and design. Use of electronics CAD and micro controller software development in C. Product verification testing and documentation.
This post graduate level position has been created to assist with the development of electric vehicle systems and conventional vehicle electronics, and will suit graduate engineers interested in automotive engineering and motor sport applications.
You will join a small team of enthusiastic and professional engineers specialising in electronics, software, mechanical and vehicle engineering. Your role will be to work for the Senior Engineer on design and validation of electronic and firmware projects and to assist with prototype vehicle assembly and testing.
Ideal experience;
* Software design including MISRA C coding.
* Use of electronics design CAD (Eagle experience and advantage)
* Software auto coding with Matlab/Simulink and Real Time Workshop
* Knowledge of micro controllers electronics design (dsPIC, MPC565).
* Battery electric or hybrid vehicle power train design/testing
* Battery charger and management systems.
* Switch mode power supply electronics design.
* Any motor sport experience including Formula Student
You will have a Honours Degree in Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering and ideally any motor sport experience.
The role is hands on, and requires a can do self-starter who is comfortable with software coding, documentation, electronics design and prototyping including manual skills such as soldering.
You will be encouraged and mentored to pursue your professional development goals including professional registration
