Geophysicist

This is a great opportunity for a Geophysicist Graduate to join our client who is a dynamic consultancy, software and innovation company based in Shrewsbury. Our client supplies consultancy services, software and equipment for the monitoring and analysis of induced seismicity or earthquakes, over a range of scales, from rock samples in the laboratory to regional monitoring around mines, petroleum and geothermal fields.

The successful candidate will be responsible to their Senior Geophysicist and to the General Manager and Chief Scientific Officer, and will be expected to perform consultancy projects through the application of geophysics including and not limited to:

* Processing and interpretation of data
* Maintenance of software systems including development and implementation of algorithms required for Geophysics projects, and responding to client support requests
* Contribute to the functional design of hardware seismic acquisition systems
* Coordination and delivery of support for data acquisition including fieldwork where necessary
* Production of reports, presentations and marketing materials
* Contribute to conference and journal publications
* Contribute to proposals for consultancy and R&D relating to geophysical projects
* Maintenance of office systems and Quality-management System (QMS) auditing
* Responding to client and supplier enquiries
* Personal development and skills training
* Additional or other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the Employer's business.



The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or hold an equivalent level qualification in Geophysics; you will have a good working knowledge of computer systems and software and be capable of thinking and working independently and as part of a team.

You will also have excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
