Graduate Consulting Engineer

Graduate Consulting Engineer required by a successful independent building services consultancy based in Birmingham

The main aim of the work is to deliver projects within a building services/technical building management environment
for our clients as an independent professional consultant.

For the successful candidate we offer the opportunity to work in a position with real responsibility, often client facing.
We anticipate that the role will have increasing autonomy but with support given by a tight knit professional team.
There is scope for rapid professional development through exposure to a wide variety of projects relating to all aspects
of building services, including not just the conventional mechanical and electrical design activities, but also: work on
sustainability, facilities management and lift design and project management, which is a very strong commercial area
for us.

Formal training will be provided as the commercial need dictates.

The role will involve supporting project managers and designers in mechanical electrical and lift design and
troubleshooting tasks. This would be in the form of research, surveys, spreadsheet modelling and use of various
design packages. Report writing about technical subjects for a non expert reader will become increasingly important
in this role.

Assisting and co-ordinate logistics with ongoing commissions where we are employed in a
facilities management role

There would also be wider involvement in business activities such as assisting preparation of marketing and sales
material plus business promotion.


Candidates will have a high level technical degree (1st or 2:1) in either electrical/ environmental engineering, industrial product design, engineering product management or related
