Graduate Food Quality Controller

Specialising in the supply of Worldwide exotic produce our client is looking for a dynamic and ambitious degree-qualified candidate to join their team as a Graduate Food Technologist. Job Title: Graduate Food Technologist
Location: Greenford, Middlesex
Salary: £18,000 per annum

Working as the Graduate Food Technologist you will be reporting directly to a Technical Manager and you will have responsibility for managing all technical aspects of your product category for specific Retail Customers. You will touch on different aspects within the company such as Food Standards, Product Development and Customer Assurance; responsibilities will include;

*Agree technical standards provided by retail customers.
*Maintain and develop food quality systems and communicate on requirements to suppliers.
*Communicate farm standards with suppliers.
*Day to day accountability for product checked by QC Technologists.
*Ensure pesticide residue programme meets customer requirements and is supplied to retailers on request.
*Support new product development.
*Report back retail developments by visiting stores and analysing data.
*Develop new product specifications.
*Implement any changes to food safety / quality arising with new products.
*Provide product samples to retail customers.
*Understanding marketplace of Exotic Categories, i.e. Calendars etc
*Attend supplier / customer / internal meetings
*Responsible for the implementation and updating of BRC standards and procedures.
*Health & Safety Committee Member.
*Responsible for the Monitoring / Implementation and responsibility of Organics certification procedures / audits and legal compliance.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a food science related discipline. You will be highly motivated and committed to succeeding within the food industry and you will have a genuine interest in pursuing your career in a Technical environment. You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbally along with great attention to detail.
