Based in Staffordshire, our client is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to join their growing team. The company specialise in providing innovative web based solutions, including web design, web development and database development, to a range of clients throughout the UK, both public and private sector. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and talented computing graduate to work within a growing web company.
The role will primarily involve providing support for the company's internal systems, as well as ongoing development.
Key accountabilities:
*Upgrading and administering Windows and Linux servers locally and remotely.
*Daily configuration and maintenance of websites and servers (Apache, IIS, Sendmail, Qmail, Mailenable, MySQL, and MS SQL).
*Identifying faults regarding command line utilities (DNS, http, SMTP and FTP).
*Installing and upgrading web technologies (PHP, Coldfusion, ASP.Net, MS SQL, and MySQL).
*Server maintenance using scripting languages (Perl).
*Security management (firewalls, server auditing).
Candidates will be educated to degree level in an IT related discipline and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the key accountabilities listed.
The successful candidate will be hardworking, committed to the task in hand and will be looking to progress within a challenging role. Candidates will work well within a team and communicate effectively at all levels. The successful systems administrator will be able to manage their own work-load and will hold excellent problem solving skills.
