Graduate Trainee Tile Designer - Surface Pattern Designer
£10,000 - £12,000 depending on experience

This is an excellent opportunity to join one the UK largest ceramic manufacturers. Candidates should have a strong technical knowledge and a keen eye for detail. This role would suit candidates looking to develop a full and extensive career within the ceramic industry.

* To create commercial surface tile designs for a mass volume world leading tile manufacturer.
* The creation of designs and the working on existing designs via computer is essential. The role is working on a design based Apple Macintosh computer system.
* Knowledge of creating artwork for the following printing methods: Silk Screen and CMYK or Inkjet would be beneficial but not essential.
* Responsibility for initial design work, computer files and fine colour manipulation work often required.
* The design process is very technical and requires a highly creative individual with a technical, methodical approach. Attention to detail is essential.
* The ability to work within a team and also be self motivated
* The role is generally office based, but working closely with the entire product development design team.
* Exhibition and retailer trade visits for research and trend purposes necessary throughout the role.

Anyone attending for interview should have a portfolio of surface design work to demonstrate their creativity and abilities.

Candidates should hold a relevant degree, with a strong knowledge design and related principles.
