As a Java Software Developer you will be involved in helping our client develop innovative software for manipulating geographical data via web browsers. The initial work will be especially focussed on designing and developing the user interface. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the product range, and to learn and use cutting-edge programming technologies.. In order to do this effectively, our client are seeking a Developer who is most proficient programming web applications using Java and either GWT or Swing with more opportunities on Java based projects to follow.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a Computer Science or similarly based disciplined. You will also be able to demonstrate successful experiences within a Java development environment. Furthermore, you will also have an extensive understanding of object-oriented development and design patterns, and user interface technologies such as Ajax or Swing. In addition the following skills are also highly desired:
*Experience of client-side development using JavaScript
*Experience with cloud provisioning systems particularly AWS
*Understanding of the Java web development/JEE ecosystem
*A talent for user interface/UX design
