A highly successful, dynamic and fast growing organisation based near Solihull, our client is a leader in their industry and provide valuable opportunities and support to thousands of businesses throughout the UK. This newly created role represents an outstanding opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to develop their career within this fast growing, multi-award winning business.

Reporting to the CEO and with day-to-day responsibility for the two-man finance team, this is a hands-on role which will provide exposure to a wide range of finance and business responsibilities.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly management accounts pack, the preparation of the annual budgets, cash flow forecasting and the provision of weekly KPI reports to the management team.

The jobholder will work closely with the CEO and the senior team and can expect to gain significant commercial experience within a short space of time, making it an ideal first FC role.

Duties and responsibilities
• Producing weekly and monthly management reports to senior management, including full production of the monthly Management Accounts pack.
• Whilst most of the bookkeeping will be undertaken by your team there will be some work required from you processing invoices, receipts and payments, completing VAT returns, reconciling company bank statements etc. In short, you will have to get your hands dirty!
• Analysing variances and exploring potential problems and then making appropriate recommendations to the senior team. Once you’ve proved yourself you will become a key part of the businesses leadership team;
• Preparation of cashflow statements;
• Improving the systems surrounding all aspects of the company’s financial operations;
Ideal person specification
• Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a thorough practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques;
• Someone who is comfortable working autonomously and leading a small team;
• Someone who loves working in a (really) fast-paced high energy environment;
• High attention to detail – able to demonstrate previous experience of preparing and reviewing financial information in detail – we can’t be training you in that!
• Someone who can think for themselves, challenge things and who is not afraid to use their initiative. (You need to be able to demonstrate that you can ask the right questions if things don’t look right);
• High degree of communication skills,
• Solid experience of planning, budgeting and forecasting
• An Excel wizard...
• ...and completely at home with Sage.
• Someone who is not above ‘getting stuck in’!
