This is a fantastic opportunity for a Proposals Engineer to join a worldwide leader.

The role will involve being responsible for the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.

Duties will include reviewing clients' specifications, producing process and mechanical designs in conjunction with the technical department, liaising with the drawing office for P&IDs and GAs as well as writing detailed technical quotations.

Accountabilities will also include dealing with suppliers and co-ordinating with other departments within the business in order to estimate prices for the commercial offer, dealing with external commercial and legal advisors as required for bid evaluation.

You will also prepare tender programmes as required, compile the tender price for internal approval, support sales engineers in client discussions, providing technical assistance during bid negotiations and liaising with the projects department after a purchase order has been secured.

This role will be based at the company's office in South Birmingham however regular travel will be required both within the UK and abroad. Extensive training will be provided in Germany on the company's products.

The successful candidate will be a graduate or hold an equivalent level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline. You will also have proven experience as a proposals engineer, preferably in the recycling industry. In addition solid IT skills, excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are also essential for the role.

A knowledge of the German language is also an advantage.
