Senior Buyer

A unique and challenging opportunity for a results-driven and self-motivated Senior Buyer to join our client based in Croydon, London on a 6 month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to utilise their natural project management and procurement related skills through effective communication, decision making and problem solving.

Job Title: Senior Buyer
Location: East Croydon, London
Salary: circa £25,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Job Type: 6 month contract

Working as the Senior Buyer you will work within the Engineering Procurement Shared Services team to ensure that the Engineering Departments operating companies are supplied with fuel, parts, tools, equipment and services to maximise the availability of the company's fleet. You will also be involved in;
Materials Management
*Compliance with Group contracts and loading contract data as require
*Placing Purchase Orders (Stock / VOR)
*Expediting parts, as and when required
*Invoice Query Resolution i.e. price, quantity
Systems
*Operating the Group preferred engineering stock control system
*Systems development, implementation and problem resolution
Stores Administration
*Stores and Procurement Procedure creation and management
*Stock taking
Supplier Relationships
*Supplier liaison to meet Company requirements
*Technical data provision if required
Reporting
*Generate reports and data analysis, established and development of new

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or will hold an equivalent level qualification in a Business or Engineering discipline and will be CIPS qualified or working towards. You will have experience with materials handling/logistics, stock control management and computer material, procurement and financial systems. You will have the ability to work on your own or as part of a team and you will have a financial awareness and budget control.
