Trainee Purchasing Manager

We are looking to recruit a Trainee Purchasing Manager to join our team based in Wolverhampton. This is an exciting career development opportunity has arisen in the Group Purchasing Department, based in Wolverhampton, for a resilient and enthusiastic individual looking to expand their potential. This role will report directly to the Group Director of Purchasing. The position represents a significant development opportunity. Full internal training including sponsorship towards the Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply qualification will be provided to the successful candidate.

Salary - £20,000

Your responsibilities will include the following:

 To negotiate services/specification/terms with suppliers.
 To liaise on new/ongoing agreements with both suppliers and internal customers.
 To provide expert advice/support as required by internal customers.
 To review market/environmental data in order to maximise the Group benefits.
 To work across all Divisions and Departments within the company which requires an openness to be able to understand diverse needs often within the scope of a single project.
 To be able to work on a number of projects, at different stages, at the same time.

Candidates must hold a degree or equivalent level qualification. Excellent written and oral communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with a range of internal customers at all levels within the business. You must also have exceptional IT and presentation skills coupled with the ability to analyse and report on financial/technical information. Good computer skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. Usage of SAP would also be advantageous. Business focused with a strong commitment to fulfilling customer service. Customer focused demonstrating a capability of taking an overall strategic view of commercial opportunities and service requirements. Capable of dealing at all levels within the supplier and internal customer base. Able to use initiative and work under pressure to strict deadlines on multiple tasks.
